I find myself very thoughtful & grateful on Sundays.  I am grateful that I own my business.  That I determine when I work and when I don’t.  I am grateful that my income has exploded every year since I started in direct sales.  And that I don’t have to worry if we wake up in the middle of the night because one of my kids has gotten sick.

Today I want to share with you how to make a plan to DOUBLE your Income & TIME-OFF in a year!  Yes, I know you can do it!  But you must zero in with laser-sharp FOCUS!  I learned this lesson, very recently, as I had started doing some internet marketing consulting for Mercedes-Benz, alongside my stella & dot.  I struggled with the new added responsibility and learning new procedures for that endeavor.  I sadly watched my stella business falter and struggled with the fact that I needed to quit working for Mercedes.  I quit on Thursday.  YAY!  Now, I sit here & reflect on the lessons learned.  Namely: STAY FOCUSED!  As I look over my last 3.5 years with my stella, I have realized over 300% growth in income!

I have learned that 3 core tasks remain the most important to moving my business forward.  They are-prospecting, follow-up, & planning!  I know that I need to spend the majority of my time on these 3 tasks to perform at my best.  And my best is not everyone else’s best, rather it is the best that I can be to achieve MY DREAMS!

Plan to Double Your Income: Apply the Law of 3

1-write a list of everything you do (tasks) to move your business forward…try doing this a few different times in a week to cover all bases.

2-circle the TOP 3 most important tasks…assign, delegate, outsource the rest!

3-now, identify the 3 most important GOALS in each area of your life.  Make a plan to work towards them daily.

Business Builder Tips

To do this business as a business builder you must be disciplined and make calls.  That is just a fact of the sales world.  The beauty of stella & dot is that once people know us, they are easy calls to make!  But if you live in a new/underserved market you will face a few challenges.  But don’t worry, I have launched my business in 4 very different markets across the US in my 3.5 yrs with stella.  And I have been successful in every market-rural or metro.  But my key to success was mindset & action.  It would be very easy to quit at times, but I have a goal: to earn enough $$ to pay the mortgage & PAY OFF the student loan debt.  Someday, sooner than later, we hope to scream: WE’RE DEBT FREE!!!  Also, I have worked in other sales positions and I absolutely think stella & dot is the place to be.  I am so happy with the stylist community, training and the line is simply irresistible!

How do you keep your head in the game?

1-have a goal, then make a plan!

2-schedule the time to do the work!  I call it Smilin’ & Dialin’!!

3-don’t allow yourself a ‘back door’.  Your business depends on your consistency & positive mind-set, but if you tell yourself, “Well, we’ll just see what happens….not much will happen!

4-discover what fills you up & make sure you do it!  Eat well, exercise, yoga, a massage, whatever makes you feel peace.

And last but not least, remember:  …..if you treat your business like a hobby, you’ll have $$ to play with.  If you treat your business like a business you’ll earn SERIOUS $$!

I’d like to be a stella & dot stylist but….

This week I sponsored 4 new stylists and our conversations always start out this way.  “I don’t know who I would book shows with…I don’t know enough people….” They have a flicker of excitement but a whole lot of doubt!  Doubt & Fear.  The 2 biggest obstacles to success.  This can be applied to anyone that is starting a new endeavor (like this blog-for me).  On my journey as a leader with stella & dot, I have accessed an inner-strength, that I didn’t know I had.  I have helped many, many stylists find it.  And now believe that we all hold this potential to BE GREAT!  So yes, whatever your doubts or fears may be in regards to starting this journey, I am certain you have that inner strength, too.

How do we move past this?  With a goal & a plan.

If you are starting your stella & dot biz, you will be given a plan after you join through our back-office, know as Stylist Lounge.  I give my potential stylists a plan before they join, so they can be profitable within weeks and hit the ground running!

My New Stylist SUCCESS PLAN:

1-Make your Wish List for your Starter Kit-put every piece on it that you love!

2-Make your BIG List (this is everyone you know that LOVES YOU, loves jewelry, loves to host, is a ‘connector’ & people you want to know-put names on this list that live in the USA, Canada, UK, or Germany)

3-Circle 4 dates on your calendar in the next 21 that you could do trunk shows.

4-Then I give her the Words to Say to start booking shows & sharing the business opportunity.

24-48 HOUR DEADLINE!  Believe me if you can get this done and start booking trunk shows before you even sign up, you will be profitable and earning our Free Jewelry Jump Start Incentives.  This is so important for a new stylist because it diminishes the doubt and gives her confidence that YES SHE CAN DO THIS!

Now, think in a 3 month time period OR Quarter.  Why?  Because this is one season of the year.  And our most profitable season of the year-the Holiday Selling Season!!  We wait all year for this!  Easy bookings & sales!  In fact this year, we have the opportunity to earn an iPAD!  I am so excited, it will have all the stella & dot apps a stylist uses at a trunk show!  Anyway, back on track….

MINDSET:

Don’t give yourself a back-door.  No out.  Work the plan.  Cultivate a pioneering spirit!!  (at least for 3 months)
